Meet & Assist Pickup from Cochin airport/railway station and transfer to Munnar After breakfast proceeds towards the hill station of Munnar. On the way, we also visit Valara & Cheeyapara waterfalls. Set at an altitude of 6000 ft in the Idukki district, Munnar was the favored summer resort of the erstwhile British rulers in the colonial days. Unending expanse of tea plantations – pristine valleys and mountains- exotic species of flora and fauna in its wild sanctuaries and forests – the aroma of spice scented cool air – Yes! Munnar has all these and more. It’s the place you would love to visit again and again. Upon arrival, you shall check in to your hotel/resort. The evening is at your leisure. Overnight stay would be in Munnar.
Today after breakfast we proceed to explore Munnar! The sightseeing takes you to Matupetty Dam, a beautiful spot for viewing the picturesque Munnar, Kundala Lake – a natural lake with recreational facilities like boating and having an excellent view of the Western Ghats as well as the surrounding forest. You shall also visit Eco point pass through the picturesque tea plantations. There are many other optional activities like visiting the tea factory, jeep rides, elephant rides which you may indulge in. Afternoon you may optionally opt to visit Eravikulam National park where the endangered Nilgiri Tahr is conserved (the park is generally closed for visitors from February to early April due to the calving season). Alternatively, you may prefer to stay back at your hotel/resort and savour the ambience of Munnar. Overnight stay would be in Munnar.
After breakfast, we proceed towards Thekkady (known as the spice bag of Kerala). Enjoy the journey by road from Munnar to Thekkady through the scenic hills and valleys of Western Ghats to reach this jungle destination. Depending upon time and your convenience/preferences you may opt for the following (optional) activities: Have an amazing boat ride in Periyar Lake (timing b/w 7.30 AM – 3.30 PM – advance booking advisable) which flows through the Periyar tiger reserve where you will have a chance to watch the wild animals like elephant, Bison, Sambar, Deer, etc roaming the lakeshore. You may go for a spice plantation visit (Kerala is the spice capital of the world) where cardamom, pepper, vanilla, clove, cinnamon, nutmeg, ayurvedic herbs, etc are grown. In the evening you could opt to see the famous Kathakali and Kalarippayattu show (Show duration is 1 to 1.30 hours each) which showcases the culture and martial art form of Kerala or go for a traditional Kerala Ayurvedic massage. Later return to your hotel/resort. Overnight stay at your hotel/resort in Thekkady.
Morning leaves for Alleppey to enjoy a boat cruise tour in Alleppey Houseboat. Rest of the day at leisure on the House Boat which is Kerala’s major tourist attraction. Sit back and relax while the boat cruises through the narrow serene backwater canals of Alleppey. We can see here in breathing green, the village slumbers by the Vembanad Lake. On a cruise, scenery flashes up vivid contrasts of lush green and deep blues. As the boat glided along the gorgeous green of the fringed palms the ripples in the blue water blend into little wavelets. Lunch, Evening Tea/ Coffee with snacks, dinner all are provided inside the houseboat. Overnight stay will provide on House Boat. Note:- • The cruise commences at 1230 hrs with lunch served on board and continues till dusk. At dusk, the boat will anchor in a wide waterway or lake for the night (The backwaters close to boat traffic at dusk as the fisherman lay their nets in the backwaters. Other boats are not allowed to ply in the backwaters after dusk. On the following day, the cruise commences again after breakfast and the guest will be dropped at Alleppey by 0900Hrs. Overnight stay at hotel. Morning get up early to enjoy the sunrise of a backwater, also you will get a chance to see fishermen catching fish of boatmen selling household items in their small canoe, After breakfast, the boat will move again for a morning cruise, you will check out from the houseboat at 0900 hrs and proceed to Kovalam beach. The journey is through coastal areas of Kerala, you can see, view of Lagoons Rivers, evergreen coconut palms make this journey very enjoyable, Reach Kovalam and check-in at your hotel It is one of the best beaches of India with its lovely slice beach sand and perfectly positioned palms. Evening relaxes on the Kovalam beach. Overnight at Hotel. Sightseeing: – Lighthouse beach, Howah Beach, Ashoka beach Distance between Alleppey to Kovalam is 165 kms / 4.5 hours by road.
Enjoy the sunrise on the beach, after breakfast checkout from the hotel, and transfer to Kanyakumari en-route visit majestic Padmanaphapuram the capital of the State of Travancore. built-in the Travancore architectural style arrive Kanyakumari and check-in at hotel afternoon go for Kanyakumari sightseeing. Visit Vivekananda Rock that houses a memorial dedicated to Swami Vivekananda. The Memorial is built at the convergence of the Indian Ocean, the Arabian Sea, and the Bay of Bengal. Kanyakumari is a place where you can enjoy Sunrise and Sunset from the same point, something special to remember. Enjoy Sunset of Kanyakumari from the tip of India, overnight at Hotel. The distance between Kovalam to Kanyakumari is 90 km / 02 Hours by road.
After breakfast check out of the Kovalam and transfer to Kovalam / Cochin Airport /Railway station.
